The short version

Who we are
PadiSell (“PadiSell”, “we”, “us”) is building an online store builder for independent businesses. PadiSell has not launched yet; right now this website collects sign-ups for our waitlist.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, and we handle it in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the guidance of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

What we collect

We don't ask for your name, phone number, payment details or any sensitive personal data. Please don't send us sensitive information by email.
Our legal basis
We process your email address on the basis of your consent, which you give by joining the waitlist. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us; this doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
We keep a minimal record of unsubscribed and bounced addresses because we have a legitimate interest (and a legal duty) in making sure we never email you again after you've opted out.
Email tracking
Our emails may contain a small invisible image and tracked links that tell us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. We use this only in aggregate, to see whether updates are reaching people. Many email apps block this automatically, and you can turn off images in your email app to prevent it.
Cookies and your browser
Our public website does not use cookies or advertising trackers. It remembers two small preferences in your own browser's local storage: your light/dark theme choice and whether you closed the announcement bar. These never leave your device.
Our private admin area uses one essential session cookie, only for PadiSell staff who sign in.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run PadiSell, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions:
- Resend sends and receives our emails.
- MongoDB Atlas stores our database.
- Our hosting provider runs this website and its servers.
- When you load our website, your browser downloads fonts from Google Fonts and some photos from Unsplash, which means those services receive your IP address.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public. If PadiSell is ever sold or merged, your data would transfer under the same protections and we would tell you.
International transfers
Some of our providers store or process data outside Nigeria (for example in the United States or the European Union). When this happens, we rely on the safeguards permitted under the NDPA, such as the provider's contractual commitments and recognised data protection standards.
How long we keep it
- While you're on the waitlist, we keep your email address so we can send updates.
- If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and the date, on a suppression list, so we don't email you again.
- If you ask us to delete your data, we do so within 30 days. You will then no longer be on our suppression list.
- If we decide not to launch PadiSell, we will delete the waitlist within 12 months.
Your rights
Under the NDPA you can:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it, or to delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time;
- ask for your data in a portable format.
Email support@mail.padisell.com from the address you signed up with. We'll reply within 30 days and may need to confirm it's really you. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng).
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit, access to our admin area is restricted and password-protected, and we keep only what we need. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affecting your data occurs we will notify you and the NDPC as the law requires.
Children
PadiSell is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children; if you think a child has joined, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know by email before they take effect.
